Computer Problems.... AGGGHHHHH!

Dear Folks,

I am sooooo sorry if you have written to me and I have not responded.  I have spent almost five solid months fighting, repairing, tech support... replacing mother boards and new computer (that STILL didn't work).  I have some 18 pages of notes on this brand new computer with daily tech support issues.

It all started last May when my mother board needed replacing. BlogSpot no longer recognized me as the owner of Dehydrating Way Beyond Jerky.  I have contacted tech support, emailed, telephoned, and resorted to every possible agency/department/entity trying to get the thing to work. No responses from anyone.....

Would only show my old defunct blogspots,

Couldn't get in and monitor, respond, or do anything until TODAY, September 21, 2016.

(Well, I also took time out for my husband's two-week stint in the hospital installing a defibrillator, but that's another story.)

All of a sudden, today I managed to make the thing work.  Not sure what I did... (chimpanzee technique - pound on the keys until something happens, not really sure what I did...)

Anyway, I truly apologize for not responding to your queries sooner.  Tried to get them all caught today. If you did not get a response or have a new question, please don't hesitate to send again.  I'll do my best to keep it current.

Thank you so much for your patience.

Linda

Dehydrating Cooked Whole Grains

Whole Wheat Berries
Many of you have food mills for grinding your own wheat into flour. But did you know you can cook your whole wheat berries and eat them like rice or a hot cereal?  For those of you who don’t yet have a food mill, this is a fantastic way to get all that nutrition from whole wheat.

Slick Tricks Department - Recycling Used Zip Bags

Recycled Freezer Bags

If you’re like me, you tend to put your dehydrated foods into zip freezer bags until you’re ready to vacuum seal them into one meal vacuum bags.

I found if I washed my bags, there was always a little moisture left in them. I would try propping them open on long handled pots or silverware sticking upright in the dish drain but invariably, whenever the sides of the bag touched, moisture would still be there.  It seemed to take forever to get those bags dry enough that I felt secure about putting more dehydrated foods in them.
